SAN JOSE, Calif., PalmSource Mobile Summit & DevCon, May 24, 2005 — Through their strategic alliance and joint development efforts, STAT! Systems and NoteGen Solutions today announced the new release of NGenWriter™ solutions for Palm Powered™ mobile devices and smartphones.

NGenWriter allows direct entry of narrative data for patient encounters into a Palm Powered™ mobile device or smartphone. Text entry is custom, comprehensive, and fast, without using a keyboard or PalmSource™ Graffiti® pad. NGenWriter is easy to learn and use. NGen is based on the core features of the highly rated Q.D. Clinical QuickWrite software, which has been tested and used by thousands of physicians and allied health care providers since 1987. It is comprised of hundreds of customized medical terms, concepts, phrases, macros and lists that facilitate rapid development of coherent text for almost any clinical situation. Additional modules facilitate faster, more accurate charge entry, physician orders, patient histories, surveys and questionnaires. Dictation is available with voice–enabled mobile devices, scalable from solo practices to large institutional settings.

Physicians on rounds can create printed or digital notes and orders right at the point of care, reducing errors and transcription costs. Notes can be synchronized to the full Q.D. Clinical EMR, or any HIT repository on site, in Community Health Networks (CHIN), or Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO). This can play a major role in eliminating timing gaps and errors, and improving quality in patient care.
