PalmSource Welcomes Third Palm Powered Smartphone from GSPDA

Xplore M28 Builds Momentum for Palm Powered Smartphones in Asia

SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 22, 2004 — PalmSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSRC) provider of Palm OS®, a leading operating system powering next generation mobile devices and smartphones, today welcomed the third Palm Powered™ smartphone from GSPDA, the Xplore M28. Alpha Tech Mobile Sdn Bhd is distributing the Palm Powered Xplore M28 smartphone in Malaysia. The Xplore M28 smartphone is now also available to wireless customers in China, Hong Kong and Macau and Thailand.

The Xplore M28 joins the existing family of GSPDA smartphones, including the G18 and G88, to provide mobile users with a full-featured smartphone that integrates traditional Palm OS® PIM functionality and telephony features in a sleek and compact form factor. Based on Palm OS Garnet, the Xplore M28 boasts a built-in VGA camera with digital zoom, MP3 and MPEG4 support, 64 MB RAM / 32MB SDRAM Flash Internal Memory Card, high quality color 2.2 inch D-TFD 65K colors LCD screen, SMS / MMS / WAP / e-mail / Java support and up to 1GB of memory capacity with Secure Digital (SD) /Multimedia Card (MMC). In addition, the Xplore M28 features a sliding numeric keypad and one-handed navigation five-way jog dial to fit the natural habits of mobile phone users.
