Grant Street Software launches GSS SD License Manager for Palm Powered Smart Mobile Devices at PalmSource Developer Conference

GSS SD License Manager simplifies application installation and license management for large organizations with Secure Digital technology
SAN JOSE, Calif. February 10, 2004 — At the PalmSource Developer Conference, Grant Street Software announced the new GSS SD License Manager solution software for Palm Powered™ handhelds and smartphones. GSS SD License Manager is the first product available that enables developers to distribute and install applications and multiple licenses with Secure Digital technology. GSS SD License Manager, when used with a Palm Powered device, provides a complete solution for enterprise customers, allowing them to effectively manage application licenses across their organization.
GSS SD License Manager takes a unique approach to application installation and licensing by using Secure Digital technology to distribute and track application installation. Palm OS® developers provision Secure Digital RAM cards with their application and a specific number of application licenses. GSS SD License Manager manages the installation and licensing of the application to the device, tracking the number of licenses-used and unused. Customers use the Secure Digital card to install, re-install and uninstall applications and licenses, just by inserting the SD card into the Palm Powered device.
