PalmSource Announces Palm Powered Expert Guides

LAS VEGAS, Nev., January 8, 2004, CES Meeting Room N213 - PalmSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSRC) provider of Palm OS®, a leading operating system powering next generation mobile devices, today announced the Palm Powered™ "Expert Guides," the Web's most comprehensive directory of Palm OS applications, online resources, e-books and user stories designed to turn any Palm Powered handheld or smartphone into the ultimate personal and professional companion.

Volunteer users from the Palm OS community have lent their expertise and industry knowledge to create 35 Palm Powered Expert Guides, with another 25 in development. With more than 21,000 applications available today for Palm Powered smart mobile devices, the Expert Guides offer users a central online tool to customize and extend the usability of their device based on specific areas of interest that include medicine, real-estate, religion, food and wine and many others.

• Tools: Browsers, calendars, credit card processing (to let retailers charge credit cards on the go), databases, emulators, short and instant messaging, e-mail, time tracking tools (for consultants and other hourly workers), and word processing.
